The Union organized annual inter-parliamentary conferences to discuss possible solutions to international problems that could be handled by the League of Nations. It promoted parliamentary control of foreign affairs and reduction of armaments.

Comments: The Inter-Parliamentary Union was on the short list, but no new evaliation was requested. Wehberg nominated the Inter-Parliamentary Union as his primary choice. If this was not agreed upon by the Nobel Committee he wished to nominate Ludwig Quidde.
